For the first three quarters, Nebraska football controlled the game, you could say. The Huskers, not Indiana, played like the seventh-ranked team in the nation. And when Anthony Colandrea broke loose on a 39-yard touchdown run to increase Nebraska’s lead to 17-6 with...

Hail Varsity Historical: Christo Leads Nebraska Football in Second-Half Comeback Against Missouri
Nebraska football fans of a certain age remember Matt Davison’s remarkable catch on the final play of regulation to force overtime in the Huskers' 45-38 victory at Missouri in 1997. But why begin with that when the subject is the 1998 game against the Tigers? Missouri...
Lopsided Score for Nebraska Football Probably Doesn’t Tell the Story Against Maryland
They were who we thought the were, the Maryland Terrapins. They were if we thought they were the team that lost to UCLA a week ago, 54-3. Afterall, Nebraska football improved to 5-0 by defeating the Terrapins 48-23 Saturday. Except Maryland led in the first half until...

Frank Solich’s five-game winning streak to open his first season as Husker head coach ended, as did Nebraska football’s 19-game winning streak, as did its 40-game regular-season conference winning streak on Oct. 10, 1998. Texas A&M snapped the streaks, 28-21, in...
