Each week during the high school basketball season select coaches from the six Nebraska classes rate the teams in their class. Here are the ratings for January 20, 2023.

Class A (Record), Previous Ranking

Notes: Lincoln Southeast has won six in a row and moves back into the ratings after two weeks out of the ratings. Westside’s 0-2 week drops them to No. 8 and moves Millard North up to No. 4. A plethora of big games this week starts on Tuesday when Bellevue West hosts unbeaten and rated No. 6 in 4A, Iowa’s largest class Sioux City East (18-0). Games to watch: Lincoln Pius X at Kearney (Tuesday), Papillion-La Vista South at Omaha Central (Tuesday), Creighton Prep at Bellevue West (Friday), Lincoln Southwest at Lincoln Northeast (Friday), Lincoln Pius X at Bellevue West (Saturday), Lincoln Southeast at Creighton Prep (Saturday), Elkhorn South at Omaha Central (Saturday). Receiving Votes: Kearney (13-4), NR; Lincoln High (12-5), 10; Omaha Central (10-6), NR; Lincoln North Star (11-5).

Skutt remains No. 1 despite two losses to Class A teams last week and Platteview’s loss to C-1 Wahoo doesn’t drop them in the ratings. Games to watch: Bennington at Skutt (Tuesday), Mount Michael at Omaha Gross (Tuesday). McCook at C-1 Ogallala (Friday), Crete at Wahoo (Friday). The Trojans had wins over receiving votes Lutheran High Northeast and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (13-5) last week. Games to watch: C-1 Malcolm at Yutan (Saturday) Receiving Votes: Lutheran High Northeast (13-4), 10.
