Each week during the high school basketball season select coaches from the six Nebraska classes rate the teams in their class. Here are the ratings for January 22, 2023.

Class A (Record), Previous Ranking

Notes: The top six stays the same even after No. 2 Gretna’s road loss at No. 1 Bellevue West. The Dragons lost by 11 (58-47) to Bellevue West but that was the closest margin of victory the T-Birds have had in their 15 wins. If you can figure out who the best team in Lincoln is you deserve an award. Pius and East are the hottest at the moment. The Thunderbolts enter the ratings for the first time all season after winning four in a row. Both teams have tough tests this week. East travels to Southeast Tuesday, Southwest Friday and hosts Elkhorn South Saturday. Pius hosts Class B No. 1 Skutt Tuesday. Games to watch: Omaha Westside at Creighton Prep (Tuesday), Class B No. 1 Skutt Catholic at Lincoln Pius X (Tuesday), Kearney at Lincoln North Star (Friday), Millard North at Elkhorn South (Friday), Omaha Central at Skutt (Friday) Receiving Votes: Lincoln North Star (9-4), RV; Lincoln Southeast (8-6), NR.
