Creighton Women’s Basketball opened the 2025–26 season with a dominant 117–66 exhibition win over Missouri Western, successfully blending a roster featuring five freshmen and a graduate transfer. Senior Kennedy Townsend set the tone early, scoring 11 points in the first quarter to steady the young lineup, while freshman Kendall McGee added six as the Bluejays jumped ahead 21–15. Their chemistry and depth shone throughout the game, as every available player made a contribution in the first half, helping Creighton build a commanding 62–36 lead by halftime.
In the second quarter, Creighton’s trademark unselfish play was on full display, recording nine assists on 13 made baskets and scoring an explosive 41 points in the frame. The Bluejays’ defensive intensity was just as impressive, forcing 26 turnovers and converting those into 27 points. McGee led the way with 18 points, one of five players to finish in double figures, underscoring the team’s balance and depth. Missouri Western’s Ana Oliveira Dias paced her team with 15 points, but Creighton’s depth, pace, and cohesion proved too much in a statement win to begin the year.
