Creighton men’s basketball fell to No. 2 UConn 85-58 during Saturday’s Pink Out at CHI Health Center Omaha.
The Huskies shot 16-of-31 from 3 and outscored the Bluejays 23-8 in second-chance points, pulling away after Creighton kept it close for the first 15 minutes. UConn closed the first half on a 14-3 run then cruised through the second half as Creighton went 0-for-11 from 3 in the final 20 minutes (and 5-of-21 in the game).
Nik Graves and Blake Harper returned to the starting lineup and led the Jays (12-10, 6-5 Big East) with 17 and 11 points, respectively.
The Bluejays wore pink-trimmed jerseys and special shooting shirts honoring people who have battled or are battling cancer, and the arena held its annual “Stand up to Cancer” moment in the first half with the majority of the 18,650 fans in attendance (the eighth-largest crowd in program history) participating.
Up next for the Bluejays is a trip to Georgetown on Wednesday.
