Tadan Bell is back in his home state for the Men’s College World Series with Coastal Carolina.

Bell hails from Columbus, Nebraska and attended Columbus High School where he was considered the No. 2 left-handed pitcher prospect by Prep Baseball Report. The southpaw graduated in 2022.

Bell said that he’s glad to be back in Omaha and playing in the College World Series for his first time.

“It’s been a lot of fun,” Bell told Hurrdat Sports. “I told some other people, I think it’s going to sink in tomorrow when the first game starts.”

The last time that Coastal Carolina was in the College World Series was 2016 when they won the whole thing. The Chanticleers return with an overall record of 53-11 and are on a 23-game winning streak.

Bell credits the team’s strong relationships for the success of the season.

“Just the team bonding we have,” Bell said. “We all get along. We enjoy being around each other, and we stay disciplined, we own it. It’s just a lot of believing in what your coaches tell you and believing that they believe in us.

Along with crediting his teammates, Bell also speaks very highly of Coastal Carolina head coach Kevin Schnall. Schnall is in his first season as the Chanticleer’s head man.

“It’s awesome,” Bell said. “He does a really good job with getting us all together and getting us prepared.”

During his time with Coastal Carolina, Bell has played in eight career games. In the 2025, Bell has pitched a total of 7.2 innings, while allowing 10 hits, seven runs, two home runs and totaling seven strikeouts with five walks. He has an ERA of 8.22.

Bell is looking forward to seeing the fans travel in from South Carolina to cheer on the Chants in Omaha for the first time in nine years.

“I think I’m going to be surprised on how many people actually make the trip down,” Bell said. “I think it’s going to be a lot of fun, and I think we’re fortunate enough, we’ve been playing well enough I think were going to get some outsiders that just haven’t been here that might be pulling for us.”

Bell said that although he doesn’t really remember when they won in 2016, he’s proud of what the Chanticleers have done to get back to the MCWS in 2025.

“It’s amazing where this program’s come since that point,” Bell said. “It’s honestly remarkable. It’s been awesome.”

Coastal Carolina faces Arizona, the same foe from the 2016 championship, at 1 p.m. CT on Friday.

“I’m really excited to play with these guys and to see what we can do,” Bell said.
