Christo Lamprecht accomplished a golfer’s dream, earning his way onto the PGA Tour after a strong season on the Korn Ferry Tour.
The top 20 finishers earn their PGA Tour membership, and Lambrecht is among them during his first season on the Korn Ferry Tour on the strength of his win at the 2025 Pinnacle Bank Championship Presented by Woodhouse.
The 6-foot-8 golfer won the tournament on Aug. 10 after sinking a shot off the bunker to birdie on the 18th hole.
“It’s kind of been a little time coming,” Lamprecht told Hurrdat Sports. “I had a good chance in Colombia earlier on this year. I kind of just let it slip, and it was just awesome to finish in that fashion.”
Lamprecht hails from George, South Africa, and spent his college career at Georgia Tech before turning pro last June. The 24-year-old was playing for more than just himself in the tournament.
“I think Americans are very patriotic, but I think South Africans might be more patriotic,” Lamprecht said. “So it’s just awesome to come out here and win, American, represent my flag, and just represent so many people back home in South Africa that have kind of helped me to get here, from parents to coaches growing up and the golf association back in South Africa. So it’s really just awesome to kind of raise the flag high for them.”
Lamprecht grew up living a few houses down from his second cousin, Christian Meintjes, spending almost every day together. Now, he’s Christo’s caddie on the course.
“I’ve always just been a guy that I just need a friend out there,” Lamprecht told the Korn Ferry Tour. “It keeps me calm, and he did an absolutely amazing job this week. It makes the moments like these just so much sweeter, having family around and having someone that has been there for you through thick and thin.”
On the Korn Ferry Tour in 2025, Lamprecht had a great season, finishing ninth in points while averaging 331.1 yards off the tee, tying for first place with Chase Sienkiewicz.
Lamprecht started golfing around the age of 3 and has been in love with the game ever since.
“When moments like these come to life, and become real, it’s pretty special,” Lamprecht said. “It will definitely stay in the memory bank for quite some time.”
Now, Lamprecht is headed for the highest level in the sport in 2026. Having accomplished his goal, Lamprecht shared the advice he’d give to his younger self.
“I would have told myself, just be a lot more patient,” Lamprecht said. “It’s kind of what I’ve been dreaming of, so I would have just told myself, just keep on dreaming.”
The PGA Tour tees off on Jan. 12, 2026, at the Sony Open in Hawaii.
