Omaha Hockey starts the year 2-0 following a massive weekend out in Las Vegas at the 2024 Ice Breaker Tournament. Omaha defeats both No. 15 UMass and No. 5 Minnesota in overtime to claim the season opening tournament title. In the overtime win against Minnesota, Simon Latkoczy ties a program record with 55 saves in a single game. On the weekend, Latkoczy made 77 total saves earning him a NCHC Goalkeeper of the Week award.
