Creighton guard Pop Isaacs will miss the remainder of the season due to injury.

First reported by Jeff Goodman and confirmed to Hurrdat Sports, Isaacs will undergo hip surgery as recommended by his surgeon.

The Texas Tech transfer had an offseason hip surgery after playing through a torn labrum last season and had still been dealing with pain this season, Goodman reported.

The 6-foot-2 junior was coming off his best game as a Bluejay with 27 points, seven rebounds six 3-pointers and four assists in the upset win over No. 1 Kansas on Wednesday. He missed the season opener but played in the past eight games, averaging 16.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 38.3% from 3.

Junior wing Mason Miller started in Isaacs’ place in the opener, while freshman Ty Davis started in Las Vegas when Steven Ashworth missed a game. Redshirt freshman walk-on Shane Thomas could see more minutes as a defensive spark on the perimeter, while sophomore forward Jasen Green has played some perimeter minutes at the three spot.

Creighton is still awaiting a resolution on Fedor Žugić’s appeal for eligibility.

The Bluejays will take on UNLV on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. CT.
