For the second time this season, Creighton suffered a 72-71 loss to DePaul thanks to a late layup, only this time it happened at CHI Health Center Omaha Wednesday night.
Creighton held its own in the paint after the Blue Demons dominated that category in Chicago, but DePaul also matched Creighton with 10 made 3s. The Bluejays led for nearly 35 minutes, but in the end, DePaul made one more play on each end to secure the victory.
Josh Dix led four Bluejay starters in double figures with 15 points on 50% shooting. Nik graves added 14 while going 10-for-11 from the foul line. Fedor Žugić added 13 points in his third straight start while Jasen Green matched him with 13 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
Creighton had no answer for Brandon Maclin in the second half as the senior scored 19 of his team-high 21 for the Blue Demons.
Creighton will return home for one final game on Saturday as Providence visits Omaha for senior night.
