Nebraska offered 2028 Manvel (Tex.) four-star wide receiver Carter St. Junious in June at the Battle of the Boneyard 7v7 tournament and quickly emerged as a top contender for the 6-foot-3, 185 pounder. The four-star experienced his first game day in Memorial Stadium on Saturday
“The experience was great,” he said. “Memorial Stadium was loud and the fans brought a lot of energy. What surprised me most was how much support Nebraska football gets and how involved the fans are. You can tell football is a big deal there.”
St. Junious spent time with Matt Rhule and wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts Jr. ahead of the game. He sees a coach and an offense that can develop him into his full potential.
“I liked what I saw from the offense and the opportunities the receivers get to make plays,” he said. “I was really paying attention to the [wide receiver] room, how they use different guys and how the receivers are coached. As a receiver, I’m always looking at whether an offense can help me develop and put me in position to show what I can do.”
Since landing the offer in June, St. Junious has stayed in regular communication with the Huskers’ staff and continued to feel like a priority target leading up to Saturday’s visit.
“My relationship with the coaches has definitely gotten stronger,” he said. “We stayed in contact and I feel like they’ve made it clear that I’m a priority for them. Coach Shorts and I have built a good relationship and I like the way the staff talks to me about my development and how I could fit into what they’re building.”
While on campus, the four-star spent some time with 2027 Nebraska five-star quarterback commit Trae Taylor and a fellow 2028 blue-chip wide receiver in Derrell Hines Jr.
“It was cool getting to know some of the other guys Nebraska is recruiting and hearing their thoughts about the program,” he said. “We were all just enjoying the visit and talking football and recruiting.”
Coming out of his latest visit, Nebraska remains a top contender for the top-20 wide receiver prospect and the Huskers have earned some staying power at the top of his recruitment.
“Nebraska is definitely still one of my top schools,” he said. “This visit helped me get even more comfortable with the program, the coaches and the environment. I’m still taking my time with my recruitment, but Nebraska is definitely a program I’m going to keep a close relationship with.”
