Nebraska football is 5-0 for the first time since 2016 and recruits are impressed with what they’ve been seeing from the Huskers this season.

Here’s the latest from top commits and key targets that were in attendance to see the Huskers overcome a slow start and pull away from Maryland for a 48-23 win Saturday evening.

Bryce Williams, a 2027 four-star cornerback commit, was back in town alongside several other Nebraska commits. The Huskers had all five defensive back commits on campus this weekend.

“It was awesome being back in Memorial Stadium,” Williams told Hail Varsity. “The atmosphere was crazy and seeing them get another win and stay undefeated made it even better. You can definitely feel like something special is building there. Being around the team and the fans just makes me even more excited to get to Lincoln and be a part of it.”

Grayson Williams, a 2028 Southeast Raleigh (N.C) four-star interior offensive lineman was a top priority target in attendance for the first time. The top-50 prospect and No. 3 interior offensive line prospect in the country made the visit alongside his teammate, 2028 three-star offensive tackle Zamir Jackson, who recently added an offer from the Huskers.

“It was 10 out of 10,” Williams said. “Loved everything.”

Nebraska has made 2028 Syracuse (N.Y) Christian Brothers Academy four-star defensive lineman/EDGE Arthur Jones IV feel like a priority since offering the 6-foot-3, 240-pounder over the summer. He’s had Oct. 3 circled in his calendar for some time and continues to feel like a top priority for the Huskers coming out of his first visit. Nebraska is battling Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Ole Miss Oregon and Miami among many others for the four-star’s commitment.

“It was a great experience,” he said. “They made me feel like I’m at home picking me up from the airport and making sure I’m enjoying the visit, treating me as if I was committed.”

Javontae Eldridge, a 2028 Wayne (Ind.) four-star EDGE, landed an offer from the Huskers in July and has been steadily developing relationships across Nebraska’s coaching staff. He made his first trip to Lincoln on Saturday and spent a lot of time around edge rushers coach Roy Manning in pre-game warmups. The Huskers are battling in-state Indiana as well as Michigan, Missouri and Florida for the 6-foot-5, 245-pound pass rusher.

“The atmosphere was crazy the whole time,” Eldridge said. ‘Hard to top a game day visit like that, and the team woke up second half and handled business.”

Max Jones, a 2028 Ballwin (Mo.) Parkway West four-star tight end, is an ascending target for tight ends coach Marcus Satterfield. The Huskers have long been intrigued by the 6-foot-6, 221-pound pass-catcher and got him to campus for the first time Saturday. Coming out of his first visit, the No. 11 tight end is planning to return soon.

“It was a great win and in a great atmosphere,” he said. “I met great people and new faces and even got to enjoy fans by taking pictures with a lot of people. My first experience was ELECTRIC. I was in shock how loud that place gets. I love it and will definitely be back soon.”

Micah Price, a 2028 Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage three-star defensive lineman, is a rising target for defensive line coach Corey Brown. Prince added an offer from the Huskers just last month and quickly lined up plans to be in attendance for Saturday’s win. The Huskers are making a move up his list of contenders.

“Everything was great I love the food, the fans, the staff, coaches and the hospitality,” he said. “Everyone is so happy and energetic when you get here they make it feel like they have known you for years. I love everything.”

Alanson Simmons, a 2028 Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Ga.) wide receiver, was back in Lincoln for the third time. The Huskers were early to offer the 5-foot-10 slot receiver and he maintains a strong connection with wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts Jr.

“It was a great experience,” Simmons said. “The atmosphere was electric as always. Seeing Nebraska get the win made it even better and I really enjoyed being back in Lincoln.”

Nash Schneckloth, a 2030 Eldridge (Ia.) North Scott offensive tackle, was on campus for the first time and already feels like a member of the program.

“It was amazing,” he said. “Great community, great program, great facilities. Felt part of the family already”
