Tight End Thomas Fidone II was the second Husker to hear his name called on Saturday as the New York Giants took him with the third pick of the seventh round, 219th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-6, 255-pound tight end from Council Bluffs, Iowa, spent four years in Lincoln, though knee injuries limited him to one appearance in his first two seasons. He played in all 12 games in 2023, starting eight, and recorded 25 catches, second-most on the team. Fidone also led the team in receiving touchdowns with four, the most by a Husker tight end since 2010.

Fidone logged nine starts and played in 13 games this season totaling 36 receptions and 373 yards, though he didn’t find the end zone. He recorded multiple receptions in 10 of his 13 games and caught five passes for 50 yards in Nebraska’s Pinstripe Bowl win over Boston College, his final game as a Husker. He was a member of the Mackey Award watch list heading into the season.

Fidone was a high school All-American coming out of Lewis Central as one of the top-rated tight end recruits in the 2021 class.

Ty Robinson and Fidone were the only Huskers to hear their names called during the draft.
