Daniel Kaelin Commits to Nebraska

Bellevue West quarterback Daniel Kaelin announced his commitment to Missouri on Monday.

“What stood out about Mizzou above the rest was that they truly recruited me the hardest and the best,” Kaelin said of the Tigers. “I feel like I personally know everyone on their staff and my relationship with coach (Eli) Drinkwitz is definitely the best relationship I have with any head coach that has recruited me.”

It’s been just over a year (March 6, 2022) since Missouri offered the 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback. He visited Missouri on Friday and Saturday (March 10-11) and left impressed.

Mizzou is close to home and it truly felt like home when I visited,” he said. “The fan base at Mizzou is great and I can’t wait to play for the whole state.”

The Tigers will have a new offensive coordinator in 2023. Kirby Moore, 31 was hired to lead the Tigers offense in January after six seasons at Fresno State. 2022 was his first season as the Bulldogs offensive coordinator.

“Coach Moore is also someone I’ve gotten close with over the last few months,” Kaelin said. “I love the offense he’s going to implement at Mizzou and it definitely fits my play style.”

Kaelin, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound junior visited Missouri Friday and Saturday. He also visited North Carolina and Colorado in recent weeks. In the end he chose the Tigers over 15 power conference offers including Nebraska, Kansas, Kansas State and Michigan State.

A three-star prospect according to 247Sports composite ranking, he threw for 3,186 yards, 36 touchdowns and seven interceptions last season.
