Nebraska football’s 2024 walk-on class got another addition on Wednesday when Elkhorn South senior Ethan Duda announced his commitment to the Huskers.

“I love the culture they are building in Lincoln, from the coaches to the players,” Duda said. “I want to be a part of establishing a new legacy.”

Duda, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end and outside linebacker has 19 catches for 259 yards and four touchdowns receiving for the Storm (11-1) this season. The two-way player also has 45 total tackles (22 solo), two sacks and two interceptions. Duda originally committed to Air Force but decommitted recently in order to accept the preferred walk-on offer from Nebraska.

“I felt at home at Nebraska with the hospitality of the coaches,” Duda said. “A lot of my former Elkhorn South teammates are already on the team, so that makes it more comfortable.”

Duda is the eighth known in-state player in the 2024 class joining Izaac Dickey (Cross County), Nolan Fennessy (Norfolk Catholic), Preston Okafor (Omaha Westside), Connor Schutt (Wahoo Neumann), Bode Soukup (Blair), Trent Uhlir (Battle Creek) and Derek Wacker (Yutan).

Fennessy will play in the Class C2 state championship game and Okafor in the Class A game on Tuesday, November 21.
