Four Huskers, Two Bluejays Among Pro Volleyball Federation Draftees

Six women who played at either Nebraska or Creighton were drafted in the second-ever Pro Volleyball Federation Draft on Monday. The league held five rounds of selections with eight teams choosing 40 draftees.  

Here are the Huskers and Bluejays who heard their names called and when you can watch them play in Omaha.

Round 1, Pick 1: Merritt Beason (Gardendale, Ala.) 

  • Opposite Hitter, Nebraska 
  • Atlanta Vibe (pick acquired from Indianapolis for second and ninth picks) 
  • Jan. 10, Atlanta at Omaha, 7 p.m.; April 19, Atlanta at Omaha, 6 p.m. 

 

Round 1, Pick 3: Norah Sis (Papillion, Neb.) 

  • Outside Hitter, Creighton  
  • Orlando Valkyries 
  • Feb. 27, Orlando at Omaha, 7 p.m.; April 5, Orlando at Omaha, 6 p.m.  

 

Round 2, Pick 15: Ally Batenhorst (Houston, Texas) 

 

Round 3, Pick 19: Lindsay Krause (Papillion, Neb.) 

 

Round 4, Pick 26: Leyla Blackwell (San Diego, Calif.) 

  • Middle Blocker, Nebraska/San Diego 
  • San Diego Mojo  
  • Jan. 19, San Diego at Omaha, 3 p.m.; Feb. 16, San Diego at Omaha, 3 p.m. 

 

Round 5, Pick 37: Kendra Wait (Gardner, Kan.)
