Out of the nine road matches Nebraska volleyball has played in so far, six have set attendance records for the opponent.
You could call it the Nebraska volleyball effect.
Five of those six away opponents, SMU, Louisville, Northwestern, Oregon and Washington, all saw program record crowds when Nebraska played in their arena. The one other, Ohio State, saw an arena attendance record rather than program record.
Here are the six records set this year in opposing arenas:
Sept. 3 Nebraska at SMU (3-0 Neb. Loss)
6,773 at Moody Coliseum
Highest attendance in volleyball program history
Sept. 22 Nebraska at Louisville (3-0 Neb. Win)
14,126 at the KFC Yum! Center
Highest attendance in volleyball program history
Oct. 19 Nebraska at Ohio State (3-0 Neb. Win)
4,156 at the Covelli Center
Highest attendance in Covelli Center history
Nov. 3 Nebraska at Northwestern (3-0 Neb. Win)
6,003 at Welsh-Ryan Arena

Nov. 9 Nebraska at Washington (3-0 Neb. Win)
9,768 at Alaska Airlines Arena

The three other road opponents did not set any attendance records, but still drew impressive crowds.

4,352 at Huff Hall
Fifth-largest home crowd in program history, sellout and largest crowd of 2024 season
Oct. 18 Nebraska at Michigan State (3-0 Neb. Win)

Not a record, but still a sellout
Nebraska’s remaining road schedule includes Iowa (Nov. 20), Penn. State (Nov. 29) and Maryland (Nov. 30).
