About Alex Drake

Born and raised in Omaha Nebraska, Drake graduated from Papillion LaVista in 2009 and went on to play basketball at Peru State and Grace University. After a year of nightmarish stories at Grace, Drake retired from playing and began focusing on coaching. He coached several AAU teams throughout Omaha from the time he was playing in college to 2019. He has spent time as volunteer at Concordia High School and a men’s basketball intern with the Creighton Bluejays in 2013-2014. After the inaugural season in the Big East, Drake packed his bags to move East and coach exposure camps up and down the East coach and spending the summer with former Nebraska Coach Danny Nee as well as many other great players and coaches he crossed paths with. Drake now spends the majority of his days behind a desk and computer screen working in finance, but his true passion is sports, so in 2020 he began filling in on some radio shows and blogging for a while, until 2022 when him and his former co-worker Zach teamed up to start a podcast, and they stumbled upon the mysterious one they call Fitz. There’s a lot left to write in the future autobiography for Drake, Zach and yes even Fitz. Drake’s favorite part of the podcast is connecting with fellow Husker fans, and the relationships they’ve built along the way.
