Nebraska Football fell short Saturday afternoon against No. 7 Indiana but the Huskers proved they can keep up with the reigning national champs. Nebraska’s fight and the raucous environment in Memorial Stadium left a lasting impression on some key recruiting targets that were in attendance on Saturday

2028 New Iberia (La.) Westgate four-star EDGE Chance Archangel is currently committed to Texas A&M but has been interested in Nebraska since the Huskers offered over the summer. He made his first trip up to Lincoln on Saturday and spent a lot of time around edge rushers coach Roy Manning ahead of Saturday’s game.

“The atmosphere was crazy, the fans really surprised me and the defense played really well,” he said. “Overall I had a great experience and enjoyed getting to see everything in person!”

2028 Rancho Cucamonga (Cali.) four-star safety Terence Parsee has vaulted up recruiting rankings and big boards early this fall. Nebraska extended an offer to the now top-ten safety prospect in August and were able to get the 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back to campus for the first time on Saturday. Nebraska made a “big leap” in Parsee’s recruitment as the Huskers look to overcome the likes of USC and Oregon for the blue-chip prospect.

“This was the best defensive [performance] I saw in person… Nebraska made a big leap, I love their DBs and how they played today The atmosphere was crazy the loudest game I been to yet”

2028 The Woodlands (Tex.) College Park four-star DL RJ Wyms added an offer from Nebraska in July and has been hearing from the Huskers consistently since. The 6-foot-1, 270-pounder is working to cut down his list to a handful of top contenders and wanted to see Lincoln for himself. Wyms didn’t make it into Lincoln until

“The game was exciting,” he said. “This is my first time at a B10 game. The environment was great and the defense fought hard. I got to talk with the Coach Brown.”

2028 Kansas City (Mo.) Center four-star tight end Israel “Izzy Johnigan landed an offer from Nebraska in June at the Battle of the Boneyard. Amidst a breakout junior season, he made his way to Lincoln for his first game day in Memorial Stadium and is already set to return at the end of the month to see the Huskers take on Washington on Halloween.

“The game was great,” he said. “A hard fought game, wish they could’ve pulled it, I loved how they used the tight ends and how they move them all around the offense that really sticked out to me.”

Here’s MORE from the No. 6 tight end in the 2028 cycle.

2028 Sioux City (Ia.) East four-star wide receiver Isaiah Grant was back in Lincoln for the second time in as many months. Nebraska offered the 6-foot-2 pass-catcher the last time he was on campus, for the season-opening win over Ohio, he returned for a conference matchup and left with a better impression of the Huskers.

“It was a great experience,” he said. “I really loved the atmosphere and the hospitality from the coaches. Every time I come here it makes me feel better about this place.”

Nebraska extended an offer to 2028 Waverly-Shell Rock (Ia.) three-star athlete Jayden Stephens on Saturday. Stephens is a versatile prospect who’s long been on the Huskers’ radar and even visited in the past. Nebraska offered 6-foot, 180-pounder as a defensive back and he enjoyed seeing the Huskers’ secondary keep Indiana in check.

“i thought that Nebraska was very impressive despite the loss,” he said. “The defense dominated Indiana for 95% of the game and that’s something that was very apparent to me. I was very excited to have received an offer, Nebraska is a school with so much history so it means a lot to me.”

Nebraska became the second program to offer 2028 La Grange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy offensive lineman Benny Maxwell III last month and quickly got the Chicagoland native to campus for Saturday’s matchup with No. 7 Indiana. Maxwell’s recruitment is growing quickly, but the Huskers have earned some staying power with the 6-foot-3, 270-pounder.

“It was amazing, the coaches were amazing everyone was very welcoming and it was a great experience all around,” he said. “The atmosphere was great and you could see there fans really care about the team. It was awesome.”

2028 Malcolm (Neb.) three-star offensive tackle Gerrit DeWaard has seen growing Power Four attention as of late and is firmly on Nebraska’s radar. The 6-foot-7, 300-pounder camped in front of offensive line coach Geep Wade this summer and enjoyed seeing Wade’s unit get after it on Saturday.

“First thing that I noticed was the electric atmosphere in Memorial Stadium today. I was most impressed with the physicality and aggressive style of play that the O line came with.”
