The Boilermakers raced out to a 14-1 lead, and the Huskers spent the whole game playing from behind. Nebraska closed regulation on a 15-1 run to send the game to overtime, but Purdue scored the last five points of the game to secure the victory. Purdue led for 41:46 while the Huskers only played with a lead for 85 seconds.
Rienk Mast led the Huskers with 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds while shooting 4-for-7 beyond the arc, though he fouled out early in overtime. Jamarques Lawrence had 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists and was 2-for-3 from the 3-point line. Pryce Sandfort chipped in 15 points.
Next, Nebraska will be back for Valentine’s Day this Saturday, in Pinnacle Bank Arena, to take on Northwestern.
