Rezac Gets First Power Conference Offer

Omaha Westside linebacker Teddy Rezac saw his recruitment turn up Tuesday. The 6-foot-3, 188-pound junior unofficially visited Boston College Tuesday and left with his first Power Conference offer.

“It was really cool, they have a gorgeous campus,” he said of BC. “I could tell the coaches are genuine and personable. I know they really believe in the school and they really believe they can win there.”

Rezac spent a significant amount of time with Eagle defensive coordinator Paul Rhoads, the former Iowa State head coach.

“We really just talked about his background, what he loved about BC, what drew him there and what I’m looking for in a college,” Rezac said of his time with Rhoads. “He drew up a few things about their defense and showed me where I would fit into their system.”

Rezac played multiple positions for the state champion Warriors last season. He has played corner, safety, linebacker and receiver in his high school career.

“They (BC)  want me to be an outside linebacker,” he said. “Coach Rhoads asked me what position I think I would want to play in college and was surprised that I would say linebacker. He said most of the hybrid safety/linebacker players he talks to want to play safety.”

Air Force, Army, Coastal Carolina, Colorado State, Dartmouth, Fordham, Navy, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa and South Dakota State have previously offered Rezac. All but Coastal Carolina see him as a defensive player collegiately.

“UNI, NDSU and Air Force see me as a safety,” he said. “The rest say linebacker except for Coastal that wants me to be a hybrid tight end.”

Nebraska, Harvard, Utah, Kansas State, Duke and Vanderbilt are a few others that are recruiting Rezac but are yet to offer. His future visit plans are undecided due to the high school baseball season.

“Right now because of baseball I don’t have anything planned out,” he said. “When summer comes that is when I plan on checking out a lot more places and getting on campuses.”
