Jordan McAlpine
Jordan McAlpine was born and raised in the Omaha metro and has been a life-long sports fan.
He started playing both baseball and hockey at a young age and spent countless hours watching or attending games, or watching highlights and reading the sports page -- which fueled a passion for working in sports media.
McAlpine graduated from UNO with a journalism and media communication degree in the spring of 2022. He started working in hockey while attending UNO as well, covering the Mavs and NCHC for The Gateway student newspaper.
McAlpine served as the hockey beat writer for three seasons and the sports editor at The Gateway, along with earning a number of freelance writing opportunities within hockey -- several of which he still writes for today. He was also one of just three media members to cover the entire NCHC Pod in December of 2020, which was held at Baxter Arena.
McAlpine's resume also includes stops at the Omaha World-Herald, Lincoln Journal Star and, most recently, The Rink Live, where he covered junior and college hockey for two seasons.
